A question about Outlook Express email?

I used to intern at a place where I had to check Outlook continuesly throughout the day. I would just keep it open but minimized and whenever a new email would come up, it would show at the right corner of my screen by the time. A little window would pop up to say I have a new email and who it is from.

I am now working and have to also check email continuesly throughout the day, but this Outlook doesnt have the same function. I want to know how to get that feature on Outlook so that I dont have to always click on it continuesly, and it will just pop up on that little window to show me there is a new email when it arrives.

THanks for anyones help :)

This is a nice program. There are several ways the program informs you about new mai. You can let it open Outlook Express open when a new mail arrives or just a smaller warning window

I do not know whether you use Yahoo widgets. There is one great one called informer. .When you do not have widgets and do not want to use them ok. Then have fun with JMM.
Reply:My guess would be to do this:

On the Outlook menu go to Tools, then Options, then the Other tab. If "Make Outlook default...." is not checked, I would check it, so then your system recognizes that Outlook is the default e-mail program. Maybe it will start using that cool window feature. Good luck!
Reply:Tools%26gt;Options%26gt;General Tab...check for new mail messages every...

fill in the box with a very low number and you'll get the alert envelope on your bottom right task bar more often! It's prolly set with a rather high number and hence you're not seeing the alert very often therefore you're thinking you having to check your incoming mail manually in order to know if there's any new mail or not.

Congrats %26amp; Best Wishes in your new job!
Reply:Outlook and Outlook Express are two entirely different programs. Outlook Express is the one that come included for free with all versions of Windows before Vista.
