Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send recieve delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. okay, we are customers of windstream which used to be alltel and we have our outlook express email on the laptop working perfect but i am trying to get the account on this computer as well and i just dont know how to do it, i went to their website and tried to do the setup they have but id says the server is down and all crap, so is there another way i could do it?

Outlook express email - can't receive pictures?
In outlook express..is there a limit on the amount of pictures I can get or send - or does anybody know how to change that?
somebody tried to send me pictures - and it was sent back to them.
and, when I tried to send - it just wouldn't go because the pictures were to big.
Is there place to change this- the size that can be sent out - and be sent to me.
Outlook express email - can't receive pictures?
There is a limit to the amount of memory you can use. If you delete some of the things you no longer need you may be able to fit them in. Sometimes you may get a message that says your virtual memory is to small and asks you if you want the system to automatically upgrade it, if you say yes there you can up grade your memory ... that's the only place I know of off hand to expand it.

My suggestion is to re-size the pictures using a graphics program. (Paintshop, Paint etc.). If you don't have any of those available nor how to use them to resize pictures, you can always use gmail which lets you send and receive big files and it is free!

i had AOL and could not open or recive PIC
come to find out the it was perventing me from opening any
PIC so check 2 see if it is BLOCKED...
somebody tried to send me pictures - and it was sent back to them.

Click the "Add" button.
From the Add menu, click "Mail."
In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click "Next."
In the Email Address box, type your Yahoo! Mail address (be sure to include "@yahoo.com") and click "Next."

Remeber the fault code - search for "outlook Express" and check the reasons why it is showing a fault - if you can't sort it, then download a free version of the latest Outlook and run with that

But first try this:
A THOROUGH CLEANUP, WIN XP:
While you are connect to the Internet do the following:
1. Click on “Tools” ... “Internet options.” There you will see three buttons next to each other... "Delete Cookies" ... "Delete Files" and "Settings." Also, below the settings button you will see another one "Clear history."
2. Click on "settings" - go to “View files” – go to "Edit" - Click on "select all" - Go to “files” and click delete, wait till all “temp” files are gone.
3. Go back and click on "delete cookies" and wait till gone
4. Go back and click on "Delete files," put a check mark on the little white square shown on the small window that will open, click OK and wait to finish.
5. Go back and click on "Clear history", click “yes,” wait a little and you are done.
6. Now, perform a “Check disk” and then a “Defragmentation;” when finished, restart your computer and see if the problem is gone.
7. If the problem persists, get on the internet and look in the Yahoo search for the site of “Tune-Up Utilities 2006,” go to that site and download their free trial program; familiarize your self with it and use it to clean up your registry automatically, (Don’t do anything manually in the registry!). It is an excellent and safe little program that does wonders with PC maintenance tasks. I strongly recommend it!
8. If all of the above fail, go to Microsoft/Windows updates and download any new updates that may not have been downloaded automatically. If this doesn’t correct the problem, here is the address of an excellent library about windows tips and tricks and “how to” problem solving.
Go to www.cpworld.com and look for Windows tips” or you could send an e-mail to the author scot_dunn@pcworld.com about his library of articles.

2. Click on "settings" - go to “View files” – go to "Edit" - Click on "select all" - Go to “files” and click delete, wait till all “temp” files are gone.
3. Go back and click on "delete cookies" and wait till gone
4. Go back and click on "Delete files," put a check mark on the little white square shown on the small window that will open, click OK and wait to finish.
5. Go back and click on "Clear history", click “yes,” wait a little and you are done.
6. Now, perform a “Check disk” and then a “Defragmentation;” when finished, restart your computer and see if the problem is gone.
7. If the problem persists, get on the internet and look in the Yahoo search for the site of “Tune-Up Utilities 2006,” go to that site and download their free trial program; familiarize your self with it and use it to clean up your registry automatically, (Don’t do anything manually in the registry!). It is an excellent and safe little program that does wonders with PC maintenance tasks. I strongly recommend it!
8. If all of the above fail, go to Microsoft/Windows updates and download any new updates that may not have been downloaded automatically. If this doesn’t correct the problem, here is the address of an excellent library about windows tips and tricks and “how to” problem solving.

get ypops its a small free program that allows you to use a email client program with the free version of yahoo mail. Make sure you are using the old version of yahoo email. Please Note: Your Yahoo! Address Book can only import data that Outlook placed in the CSV file. Some of your data may be excluded if Outlook does not place it in the .CSV file.

How do you retrieve deleted email for Outlook Express?
Hopefully you can just drag it out of the delete folder. If it is not in there, you will have to use a recovery program. I use pcrecovery. It is hard to set up and use, but it works. Use it immediately before it gets overwritten, or it is gone forever.

Outlook Express Email?
I've got a new computer and i want to set up an Outlook Express email account. I've tapped in what i want my email to be and its come up with my POP3 and SMTP servers. What does this mean and what do I type here? I have orange wireless broadband.

The SMTP address is smtp.mail.yahoo.com
You'll also need to do this :-
Log onto Yahoo mail (from your web browser)
click on Options and select Mail Options
Select POP %26amp; Forwarding

Click on [SAVE]

How to set outlook express email service?
You will need to obtain the following information from your ISP or your e-mail provider before you set up Outlook Express (OE):
Incoming Mail server address (POP)
Outgoing Mail server address (SMTP)
also find out if your SMTP server requires authentication
Once you have the necessary information, here's how you can set up your email in OE.
1. Open Outlook Express.
2. Click Tools.
3. Go to Accounts.
4. Click the Mail tab.
5. Click Add%26gt; Mail
6. Type your Display Name or the name you want to appear when you send emails.
7. Go to next.
8. Type your email address then go to next.
9. Enter the Incoming and Outgoing server address.
10. Type your account name (email address) and password.
11. Check Remember Password.
12. Click Finish.
13. Click Close.
If your outgoing server requires authentication, do not push the [Close] button yet. Go to Properties%26gt;click the Servers tab%26gt; check my server requires authentication on the bottom. Click Apply then OK.
P.S. You need to have a POP enabled email account if you want Outlook Express (or ms outlook, incredimail, etc.) to manage your emails. Free yahoo accounts are not POP enabled but if you are using yahoo mail plus you can set it up in OE. :) hope this helps.

How to set outlook express email service?

I copied the account info, the incoming mail server info (POP3) and SMTP info onto the Outlook Exp. on my laptop, but it's not recognizing my email. I also tried to Google setting up my OE but that didn't work.

You can set up the account for both your desktop and your laptop... That is correct.. But with Outlook.. (I call it "Poutlook" since it sucks.) It downloads your email to your hard drive when you log into your account and then deletes your mail from your online POP3 account... Therefore, if you sign on with your desktop and check your email, it is downloaded to your hard drive... Then if you go to check your email from your laptop, you will see nothing, unless new mail has arrived... Consequently, you will only be able to see the email that you have originally downloaded to the said computer.. You cannot share emails between computers unless "maybe" they are both on the same network... And that is a totally different question altogether.. Getting them to sync is probably possible, but beyond my knowledge of outlook as I do not use it...

I can import email adresses but I have about 2000 addresses I want to import from a csv file - I don't want them mixed up with the addresses currently in the address book. I want to use the import list as a group on its own. HELP
