URGENT ! how to switch your outlook express email account to offline?

my dad is going away and he wants me to make him to arrange a setting on outlook express so that when you send something that it allows the senders to have a little message saying that "he is away da da da di da" now he can do it with a different program but not outlook express. please help, its urgent first one to give me the first answer will receive BEST ANSWER =) thanks !!!
